Kicking out Eggs?

My broody hen has kicked 3 eggs out and I have found 2 broken eggs under her. She is a EE and this is her first time being broody. Started with 15 eggs and down to 10. Is this normal?

sometimes they do that i have one that didnt like the nest i put her in and she broke one egg and kicked the other s out only sat on 1 i was so mad at her also they sometimes do that because they know the eggs are bad....

Mine started out with 10 kicked out 5, 4 were clear and 1 was an early quitter. I think they can tell when the eggs are bad.

Broodys usually kick bad eggs out of the nest. They could be infertile, dead, etc.

The ones cracked under her were most likely stepped on, or cracked by other birds

when mommy leaves the nest for food / etc.
