I couldn't stand it any longer...the other 2 have hatched with my help. I did it under warm running water. The one that pipped pretty much popped out right away it has some neat markings...the 4th came out but there was more blood involved....however they are both in the incubator moving around....looks like everything is good

He looks so cute in his boots. What did you use to make the boots? Is that First Aid tape or band aids. I had to do boots a few days agol I wonder if the curled toes are common in peachicks.

According to Rodney Michaels, it is b/c of too high of an incubator temperature and doesn't really occur in naturally hatched chicks.  I had mine between 99 and 100 and he said 98 hatches out the strongest chicks.  Good to know for next time.  The two other eggs I have picked up and they are chirping like crazy I want to rescue them SO bad.  He and I agree that any deformities they might have are caused by the incubator.  Sooo wish I had had a broody hen or peahen.  Nothing like the real thing.  

I did what Rodney has done, simply using masking tape.  One on the bottom, one on the top.  Just position the toes where they should be.  Worked perfect for me.  They are pecking at each other and have both shaken off their dander a few times they are very happy, but all they want to do is sleep lol.  Tomorrow I will introduce them to food.  

Now going to drive myself CRAZY over these two unhatched eggs.  I can't let them die in the shell.  Rodney says results typically aren't good when you have to help them.     He said to wait a few hours...that's too long!

Already preening The littlest one that I helped hatch today, it hadn't pipped but I took it out anyways...it's resting under my heated blanket...

It was rolled over in the incubator so I took it out and now am keeping it upright and warm. So far so good!

All 4 are together now...the silver pied white one which hatched out normally...in the background...I can already tell will be head honcho. The two pieds are good and the dark pied, the one I hatched in the shower with extra blood...may or may not make it. Very iffy. Interestingly, it hatched out of the silver pied egg The other 3 eggs were spalding silver pied and they are doing fantastic. Will put up some cute fluffy pics in a day or two. Glad I made it through this!!!

If you washed off the yoke after getting it out of the shell it probably just don't have any energy, you can make some sugar water with a drop of Poly-v-sol and give it a boost.
I mix 3 parts warm water with 1 part sugar and add just a bit of Poly-vi sol (no iron)
then i put the liquid into a tea spoon and just hold it up to the beak letting the tip of the beak rest in the spoon, it will drink a little at a time , i do this every 30 minutes to and hour
The babiesare tired so resting is essential, i would turn off the lights and keep them warm so they can gain some strength , kinda like puppies.
