Another one of our hens started laying today (actually used the nesting box to boot) and my daughter was stoked to find a surprise egg! I had to share and figured y’all would appreciate it as much as I do.

How cute is she!? First eggs are definitely worth getting excited over! And pretty eggs, too!
I have a bantam hen who has been on an egg strike for months. When she finally resumes, it is always like first eggs all over again!

Thank you! She loves our birds. After she grabbed the egg she went over to who we suspect had laid it and says “it’s time for your cuddle good girl!” that’s tough! I wish you luck with your striking hen.

Love her smile! She looks so happy. Kids definitely make chickens feel more worth it, my 8 year old begs to go out with our every day!
