Ah, thank you. I haven't told the kids yet. We have a bunch of other videos of her, including Joey relaxing in a chicken bath and falling asleep while getting her feather dried with a hair dryer. Maybe I should go back and watch those. She was a good chicken.

We have a Trader Joes and a Whole Foods 40 min from here. I'll wait for the weekend and check it out, my wife loves Whole Foods. Not sure I would hatch more than 2 or three because I want to breed my NH Reds to my Jersey Giant rooster. Sorry to hear about your Joey, sounds like she was quite the bird.

I forgot to say, we got Cochin Bantams. We really like them, but right now my daughter also has a 5 month old black Silkie pullet that is very sweet. The Cochins are an excellent chicken breed for our household. They don't mind confinement on the days I am not around to let them free range the yard, they are relatively productive, they aren't too small, and their eggs are a decent size, about 1.2 - 1.5 oz each. They are gentle on the garden, in comparison to the LF we had, and they hardly ever make much noise, except when announcing they laid an egg. As you can tell, I am a big fan of Cochins.

I havent had them but I think there really cute. I opted for serama as there tiny and I read that they dont mind confiment . I have apartment chickens lol They free range in my liveing room and I have a big tub of dirt for them to scratch in and dust bath Im thinking aobut growing them ssome grass like cat grass but enough of it they can scratch and dig and eat it. I also have a silkie her name is butter she is white. And jumbo brown quail and button quail . I really really want to hatch some Trader joes eggs but we dont have one around here.And non of the markets , even the organic market and health food store dont sale fertle eggs.
