Kiki's found horse eggs—experiment Round 2

Pics
Hi. Thanks for tagging me & bringing me to this thread. Now I have to follow it to see the baby horsechickies when they hatch.
I picked my name here because we just got lots of mini/micro chicken breeds. Had never noticed another member who had a similar name while I had been lurking on the site for the past few months. Sorry.
Hey, I gots no problem with you being @Microchickie! There be room enough in this town for two micro....whatevers, LOL!

Actually my husband gave me my call name. Don't know why he chose it for me other than I'm kinda sorta petite and had a bunch of little chicks at the time.

No worries. I really do like microchickie, though!

So speaking of Broody stalking.... I can now verify that this run holds exactly one adult human female (uncomfortably). I go and sit in it so I can watch my broody and her new babies. The view through the little door above the ramp is perfect. The neighbors probably think I have lost my mind but who cares! Best entertainment ever!

I can so relate to this.

So i assumed by her name, that she was generally always a PITA...
What earned her the name, if not that?

Ryn.
No, she was a fairly nice hen, who went broody, so DH built her a broody box and run of her own before we got the eggs. We moved her during the night and placed the eggs under her and when daylight came she refused to sit on them in the new box, every time the new box was opened she would run back to the coop and sit in the nest she had been in, until we had to move the eggs back into the coop in order for her to brood them.

Wouldn't she have just stayed on the nest if hatch time was that close?
That is my understanding. They will get off for maybe 1/2 hour to eat, drink, poop, dustbath until about 3 days before the hatch starts. Then they stick to the nest like someone spread superglue on it. I guess that is the chicken version of "lockdown". I don't think she tries to mess with the humidity though.

Nothing to be sorry for!
