Its possible, but he's never unattended on the first floor unless he is contained. The living room has a whole bunch of boxes and things that we haven't gotten around to getting rid of/unpacking yet. Not the best playground for a 22 month old.
 
Here's a thought I haven't considered. My FIL often leaves the back door open when he feeds the birds in the morning (he has the most regular wake up time and no toddler to take care of). The keet could have gotten outside. In which case, our mouser probably got it.

A few stories...
Was recently chicken taxi for 9 chickens. I was driving with 4 older birds for delivery I would go over a bumpy section of road then hear "erh erh erh erh". I couldn't figure out what could be wrong with my car. Then I heard it again along with a "bak" and realized it was the chickens in the way back. LOL
Escape stories....
Had a hamster live in my closet for a week while the family was on vacation. We had someone coming over the check the pets and such and suddenly the hamster was missing. So she put food out on the floor and stuffed a towel under the door so I couldn't leave my room. The food kept disappering so we something was eating it. I got home to find a whole nest made in my closet. Some chewed up kleenex and carpet fibers for bedding. A little food storage and a bathroom off to one side.
Another time, different hamster.
Had the carpet replaced in the bedrooms so the vents for the furnce were removed. Little stinker escaped and went down into a duct. You could hear it running around. Had to go into the crawl space under the house and open ends of ducts up till we found it and could catch it.

My cousin had a hamster that wouldn't die. I think it got stepped on a couple times, lost for a year, as well as a few other indignities. The last time it got out and climbed into the dryer. A cycle in that is what finally killed the poor thing.
