Oh, you're quite right. I figure that at least desktop devices are stationary, and do not contain cameras or microphones (that I know of.) The hardware is also simpler, and easier for me to understand than the myriads of inaccessible small circuits in touchscreens.

You put a bit of tape over the camera, but the mike you just have to turn off... which means it can be turned back on. And yet we keep doing this.

I went 7 years without one. Didn’t get one until I went on a work trip. It was like I lived in the 1980s. No phone, no internet, and no cable. Completely cut-off from the outside.

None of my computers have a camera attached. None of my computers has a microphone attached. None of them have an internal camera or an internal microphone so none of my computers can be used to see or hear me.

It is possible for malware to install a key logger but I have not found any evidence of a key logger.on any of my computers.
