Don't think I would physically be able to hand them off. The Mex is going to do it for me.
I would end up giving the dude a section of what to do And how to do it and he may laugh or say something silly that would force me to snatch the chicks back.
It's better, for me, to not be present.

If he’s that carefree, why not just ask if you can keep them? Apologize and give him $20 if you feel super bad, or offer to buy babies from a feed store for him.. just put on your best “emotional woman face” and explain how attached you are. He’d probably melt.

the babies are mine for now. I'll give them to him tomorrow.
I won't...the Mex will have to take them over for me. I'd never make it out if the driveway.
