A roast can be cooked fine in a microwave but... you have to use one with a temperature probe and it will take nearly as long to cook as it would if you roasted it in an oven. It would come out pretty much inedible if you tried to nuke it quickly without the temperature probe.
Ahh okay that makes sense. The microwave did mention something about a probe. I’m not sure if we have that part 😂🤣

I would think that there's a breed (or mix) out there, somewhere that would work, but most hypoallergenic dogs have coats that either don't shed or shed minimally. That doesn't work well for an LGD. They end up a matted mess, especially around the eyes and ears. Non-shedding mixes would need daily grooming and special attention after any sort of weather event.
Yeah, a dog like a poodle will get super matted and even with a short hair cut its gonna grow back fast.
I've never had an outdoor dog, I mean I spoil mine

I think an Airedale Terrier would work best of all the breeds but I'd have to do more research.

Snobbery! I love my microwave! It's the best for frozen veggies, no-longer-hot coffee, an "emergency" baked potato (yes they're better from a real oven but sometimes you can't wait that long, or the house is too hot already). I love mine for melting chocolate (but look up how-to). Much simpler to get the temper right than using a double boiler.

It's never going to replace a conventional stove, but it's also not the devil incarnate. I know some peeps feel they're causing harm. That's fine, but I don't believe it. I remember when home models first came out. (Yes, I'm THAT old :lau) Saving time & unnecessary dirty pots & pans (and energy) for many, many years.
My Mom was the first demo agent for Litton, way back when. We had a microwave (courtesy of the company) way before they showed up in stores. No one had ever heard of them and most were afraid of them (see previous note about cats in tin foil hats.) They were so new that there weren't any recipes or books beyond the instructions that came with the oven. We were Mom's guinea pigs as she learned how to best use the beast. While it was amazing for leftovers and quick cooking, I've eaten enough rubber cupcakes to last me a lifetime! And blond meatloaf tasted great, but looked scary. There was no such thing as a browning element, at least not at at first. When they did come out with one, it was extra ... and severely cut into the size of what you could cook ... so blond meatloaf, it remained! That's when my brother and I developed a serious addiction to ketchup!

Maybe something like an Anatolian could work? They have shorter coats than most LGDs so may be better for allergies? But then again maybe not since they still shed a lot I’m sure. I actually find some of the longer coated dogs are less allergy irritating than shorter ones cause the fluff tumble weeds or stays on instead of the annoying little individual strands that get in your nose and mouth haha

But that said, I would think just a regular fairly large protective dog would work just as well as LGD or maybe better since they’d bond to the person instead of the flock haha but could do both. I don’t think an LGD is really necessary or a great idea unless someone has a lot of livestock
