I had a science teacher in high school who had been struck by lightning not once but twice (how does one even manage that!?) And she was beyond weird.
If you dance nekkid on top of a hill during thunderstorms, it can happen quite often. I've heard playing golf will do that too.

Ok so here’s the Friday reveal (hopefully will be able to see more of it when mr muddy is able to take the picture 😂 I just ran out and grabbed a quick selfie in between storms!

(I know mare, elk, and others are following closely but I tagged a few that may not be so post wouldn’t get lost in the shuffle 😉)

Is her home okay, or is she going to have a lot of work to get it livable again?
We don't know yet but someone said that it seemed ok. I think someone was making a list of badly damaged houses and hers wasn't on the list.
She's ninety something. She leaves out certain details when retelling a story.

That’s understandable but I don’t think it necessarily ruins it if done right. Like maybe my reheating meat thing isn’t good and ruins it but some stuff is good and also microwaves have come a long way now so they usually have different settings for different things and cooks it perfectly. Like mine has a bunch of different ones for actual cooking, for reheating, for defrosting, etc. and then different settings for various foods in each of those things.
When DH and I were in Rochester for his bone marrow transplant, he was not allowed any non-packaged food that hadn't been heated/reheated to sizzling just prior to his eating it. We used the microwaves at the transplant house a LOT.

He didn't always feel up to eating, so when he did, it wasn't helpful to spend a lot of time enjoying the process. That left-over steak from last night's take-out restaurant meal would be way too done by the time it got reheated in the pan or oven. I would never try to cook meat in the microwave but it really works better than conventional for gentle reheating without over-doing it too, too much. I like mine rare to medium rare. If it needs reheating it's always gonna end up more done than I prefer but ime the microwave does the least harm unless I have access to a grill.

I had some friends (they're in Guatemala now so we've pretty much lost touch) who refused to have a microwave in their home because they felt it caused some kind of physical harm. I never discussed it with them (none of my business 🤷‍♀️) so I don't know what they were concerned about. I really doubt anyone has any credible research. Still, who knows? I wouldn't want to be stuck with nothing but the microwave, but I'm glad I have one available.
