True lol. Daisy likes to nibble at my toes or in between them, so not biting but I can't imagine it would hurt very much. Then again I've never really been bitten so..

I used be a bit scared a chickens though lol the claws and that sharp beak... 😖
I do love chickens though now
Ducks have a kind of sawtooth edge, like teeth, on the contact surfaces of their bills. It totally hurts if they bite you. "People don't think it be like it is," (DH says), "but it do." Surprised me! I still love my duckies, though. I'm sure I'll love my geese too, once I get them roasted up real good.:lau

Oh, I thought you meant it was easier for the parents. 😅

Homeschooling was not easier for me, although I was plenty prepared for college level courses, which I was very nervous about.
IME most homeschooled kids have the opposite experience.. especially with the rising popularity of "unschooling."
"Unschooling" is monumentally dumb. Most (all, actually) homeschoolers I've known take their kids' education very seriously. But you definitely get out of it what you put in.

It was 28° around 5:30 this morning. 😔 🙄😳🤷‍♀️ It's now a toasty 61°, 5:00 p.m. DH says the high was 66°. I wonder if the birds have to adjust to the weather like we humans do? I suppose they do... s'posed to be 82° tomorrow.

I brought treats to the midst of the upper field, tossed them out, then sat down in the grass. The chickens, turkeys & geese flocked all round me, pecking at who knows what. They ate up the oats pretty quick and were apparently eating things I couldn't see, even though some were almost in my lap. It was fun, They're all so pretty and fluffy or sleek in the green grass & the remaining wildflowers.

Anyway, that's all I have to say about that. 🥰
Today's high was 67°F. It's currently 62°F.

I just finished making 9 qts. of Hot Sweet Pickle slices.

Thankfully, most of the homeschool families I know take it very seriously as well.
I used to have a family friend who got into unschooling.. her 10th grade son couldn't do 4th grade math (by her own admission—she thought it was funny).
I cut ties with her for adjacent reasons.

This morning it is 37°F and dropping. I turned the sprinklers on the garden just in case. As I walked by the truck, I felt the top of the camper shell and it has a crust of ice on it.
well that solves it....wyoming is definitely off my list!!! although we too are fearing early fall/winter based on weather changes 😭😭😭
