I am starting my quail cage build.
Someone wants to just go out and buy real quail cages, I insist on using things that I have laying around to build this cage.

I am starting with an air conditioning drain pan :eek:that I will be using as the roof.
Everything is going to be built/made around this roof pan thing.

It measures 5 feet by 2 foot 8 inches.

I have two pieces of something...I think they used to be part of a kids bed, not sure, that I want to use and the two end sides of the cage. They are 18 inches tall.

Is this tall enough for the height of the cage?

Starting pieces. This drain pan thing that is showing will the the underside of the roof...to hide the ugly rust. The other side still looks nice! :lau

I
Either way, it's a guaranteed fun time!!! I'm all about building stuff. (I draw the plans for a living. And build as a hobby) Good luck!!!!
I have zero building skills.
I make it up as I go!
:lau
Maybe I should draw up a sketch of what I am thinking real quick.
BRB with one.

This is a great idea, I love being able to use stuff that others are throwing away to build my chicken homes and out buildings. They don't look like the expensive ones. but they do the job, cost very little and keep a few things out of the land fill. To me that's a win win for everybody. Check out who may be building something close by, they are usually throwing some pretty good wood and stuff in the dumpster and don't mind if you want to remove stuff from the dumpster, just ask whoever is in charge. They may even help you load it in whatever you are using to get it back to the house!
