Intentionally.
I was young and heard some older kids talking about eating them. I found a few around the trailer park and tried them.
They were good but not as good as the others had made them out to be.
I later found out I was a bit confussed about what they were talking about. It wasn't cats at all.
Oh well, you live and learn.
How'd you cook them?

Halfway through the plucking, the ice pellets turned into snowflakes. Looks like there is already a 1/2" accumulation.

The future guest of honor at someone's feast is currently relaxing in a salt water bath.

It is down to 31°F and still dropping.
I had to stop work after one tom. :hit The wind was too much for me and my gas-fired cauldron. Canning beef stew today; more toms headed for Valhalla tomorrow if the weatherdorks are right. Has to be done, but it always makes me sad. So pretty they are, and enjoying life so much.

Do you age them in saltwater? I have my boy in the cooler dry, which is what my book butcher guy says to do (only not necessarily in an actual picnic cooler). I'd much rather be simultaneously brining.

when you said “older KIDS” but ended with “i was confused with what they were talking about, it wasn’t cats at all” I’m afraid to ask how old these “kids” were...

I know more than you think I do. Your previous avatar was more appropriate and fit you better than the snowman.
So you caught the previous avatar? That was the picture I "had" posted earlier in this thread. ;)

Oh, I think you know a lot. However, my snowman is more appropriate than you may realize. Slap a pair of fluffy pajama pants and a pair of holy shoes (holes in the toes, not church-going :p) and that's an accurate portrayal of me, just boppin around. Except for today. Today, someone may get maimed.

My previous avatar only happens twice a year on a full moon at the witching hour at the 6th minute on the sixth second. That's not an accurate representation of what I look like. Although that particular picture was taken about 3am after an awful day so it turned out not too badly. :gig

I do like cats... they're fluffy, but I must admit that I prefer dogs.
The fact that a cat scratched my arm for a good three or so inches with both paws when I was younger isn't helping in the slightest.
Apparently, he didn't like his tummy being touched.
Despite the fact that the idiot rolled onto his back when I was petting him. Sneak! A sneak!
Cats are fluffy & pretty, yet I do not like them at all. (Not their fault I g-u-e-s-s...) They interfere with my respiratory function & my mucous membranes. Any cat of mine would have to fend for itself in the barn, assuming a diet of mice-not-birds.

Ah, allergies? Definitely more of a reason to avoid them than mine.
You know that the answer is not going to be what you wanted to hear :lau
No, I'm genuinely curious. Might be a good thing to know if everything goes to shiz and I need to fend for myself -- might as well make scrounged meat taste good, right?
Speaking of, has anyone had canine meat?
