We put the box with the squirrels in it in the oak tree next to where the palm was. I hope the mom comes but if not I'll take them in.

So how long have they been without? Have they been fed? Did you research how long they can go between meals? Did you give them anything? We put the box with the squirrels in it in the oak tree next to where the palm was. I hope the mom comes but if not I'll take them in.
Yes, I did lots of research. I've done research on them before as well.So how long have they been without? Have they been fed? Did you research how long they can go between meals? Did you give them anything?
Did you do the research about the legalities of you having them?Yes, I did lots of research. I've done research on them before as well.
They should be fed every three hours. Almost started making some.
But, the mom just took them to the nest!! I saw her carry the first one from the box in the oak tree to a mango tree. She has a backup nest there. I can see it, right outside the window, from our school room. I'm sure she's getting the second one now.
I'm so glad she got them. We've taken care of squirrels younger than those before, right after Irma, with no power. I had to warm up our DIY formula with a candle. And we had to feed them every two hours. For two days straight. That was fun.
We ended up taking them to a local animal rehabber. I'm going to volunteer to help take care of some of the babies she gets.
As I type this I can see her taking another on to the nest.
Yes, it's legal to keep them as pets even.Did you do the research about the legalities of you having them?
? With or without a permit?Yes, it's legal to keep them as pets even.
You need a permit to keep them as pets in Florida.Yes, it's legal to keep them as pets even.
For grey squirrels, yes. But not for others surprisingly? With or without a permit?
Every state has different rules. Some states require a permit.
I've heard stories about that happening even with rehabbers. Also note that human imprinted animals have a very slim chance at survival in nature. Rehabilitations don’t interact with them at all so they remain afraid of humans and don’t become dependent on them.
