I thought the point of being married was to live a long, nagged life and die a slow painful death.

Our early riser is the designated animal potty person. She disarms the alarm, lets the birds out of the coop, and takes the dog potty. She’s 8 but my 6 year old could probably do it too, if not for being the last one up.

It does help I think! Because once she’s done she’s ready to make toast and play Minecraft for the morning.

It's officially decided then, he's getting a job!! then its rewarding once they earn screen time.

I agree, I am the same way except I'm not a night owl!! but I like to wake up early enough to enjoy my first cup of coffee in peace, before my kids get up and I have no choice but to get going. My youngest, 5y.o will sometimes wake up at 6 am demanding to be fed saying "I'm starving!!"... like whose the boss around here?! I was actually thinking of assigning him a job if he wakes up early in hope he will decide to sleep in.

Some days it's better to get something done than nothing. But we all need nothing days, too.

Today is supposed to be 97... definitely a good day for swimming

It’s “only” about 94 here today (still super hot for us though) but it’s supposed to be 99 tomorrow.
