Got some photos of the animals today!!! I was outside for like almost an hour photographing them all and roasting in the sun but it was totally worth it! Even if I did end up drenched in sweat šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ¤¢

It is HOT out there. 🄵🄵🄵🄵

Anyway....

I was just out gathering eggs for no more than 10 minutes. I wasn't rolling around in the grass. I cannot remember gathering so many bugs in such a short period. I have already picked off at least 5 different bugs including an ant and two little tiny black beetles.
Oh wow!!!

Thankfully no bugs really seem to get on me. We have a lot around, for sure, but they stay away. And amazingly the chickens have done an excellent job keeping the ticks away!!! I thought for sure I would have a bunch on me last week when I was wading through some tall grass and crawling through brush/woods trying to catch a quail but NOPE!!! Not one.

We do seem to have a lot of ants in the house lately though for some reason. big ones.

And a ton of what I think are dragonflies.

I brought the stepladder in yesterday so I could replace the ballast in a light fixture. The first thing I noticed was a crab spider crawling on me. I found a different home for it. My luck being what it is lately, shortly after I got the light fixture repaired, one of the bulbs burned out.

Good idea, that never crossed my mind!

I was leaning toward tossing a cold glass of water on her while yelling "Get up Woman, You're burning daylight! And I'm HUUUUUUNNNGRRYYYYY!"
That will not get you the result you're looking for. How about wake her with a kiss (you know, like Prince Charming), make her some breakfast, tell her about the things you'd like to do, ask if she'd be willing to help and chat with her about something that interests her while she eats.

She may have different priorities and want to do some other things. You should agree to help her with them once your things (or before—) are done. DH always wants to mow. It's like mowing is the only thing that matters. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø I don't mind, but it would be nice to get some good-tempered help with my projects. He's not that pushy though, so I don't usually object unless it's someplace I don't want mowed. (I like the wildflowers, as long as they're not thistles or beggar lice or similar.)

I'm helping teach Jaffar the correct way to do his crowing. He still needs that long drop of sound at the end. The Err, err, err, err, eerrrrr part. But His still goes " Err, err, err, err, squeek" He's so cute, but he's almost there! :D
Update: He's got it! A real crowing sound now! :wee:ya (I just had to tell him to take deeper breaths, before he crows):celebrate
