Did you miss the part about being locked in the kitchen from now on? I am waiting for baby gates to arrive but until then..

On top of being let out every time he rings the bells, he is also going out every time he wakes up, eats, drinks a lot, during playtime, and every 45-60 minutes besides all that.
Have you checked for bladder infection or some kind of allergic reaction to maybe some ingredients of his feed?

And maybe he even was trained to go pee on a some old piece of carpet (some use newspaper) by the breeder? I have heard of people doing that because they would not want to be bothered having to bring the puppies out every time.

I’ve always thought the Appalachian Trail would be cool too (mostly cause I’ve read a few books about it 😂🤣🥰) but that would never be possible just because it takes soooo long and so expensive, etc. and no way I could ever walk let alone hike/backpack 2,000+ miles 😂🤣
(Pssst, @KDOGG331 --let me give you the ancient secret how to hike the AT. Are you ready to hear it and will you guard it closely?)

OK here goes....EVERYONE who ever hiked the Appalachian Trail did it 1 STEP AT A TIME! :thumbsup

You should look into the Natchez Trace. You can ‘hike’ the entire length in your car. ;)

That’s a good point! I hadn’t thought of it like that before. That sounds fun. Though I’m not sure I’m even ready to add weight yet. 😂🤣 I’m so out of shape lol I think I just need to do more regular walking/hiking first. Or maybe both. Like a hike with a small bag with some water in it or something. I’ve always wanted to do like the backwoods type backpacking but besides the distance, I don’t think I’d feel safe being back there alone in the middle of nowhere with murderers and bears 😂🤣
No... you need to go with a friend or two. Hiking is almost always better with company. Is it really that unsafe in the backcountry of MA, or are you making fun?

I've never been to your part of the AT, but you shouldn't consider it a single entity. The AT is comprised of many, many segments short and long.

It looks like the autocracy has closed the amenities and would much prefer that the peasantry sequester themselves in their basements, but who cares about visitors centers and nasty ill-kept privies anyway? You can still hike the trail. Grab a couple of friends, pick out a day-hike sized segment, pack a lunch and go for it!

That’s true!! Although with Gator he was constantly wanting to go in and out all day and he didn’t even have a bell lol oh I wanna go out wait no I don’t wait yes I do 😂🤣🤦‍♀️

And oh gosh!!! Does she have a crate? Did you ever get that book?
The're always on the wrong side of a closed door, aren't they?

And yes, I did get the book - and it's wonderful! The issue is that DD is supposed to be "In Charge" of Crazy Dog and has not even cracked the cover. I've been applying the logic and it's definitely helping, but with only me doing the training, it's just not consistent enough. She's improving, but we have three years of "untraining" and some pretty severe separation anxiety to get through.
Crazy Dog isn't nearly as bad as she used to be and we've learned how to set up her environment to avoid most of the temptations. Still, we miss things here and there, so she'll have a setback now and again ... but we're getting there!

Wow! He's too cute for his own good ... even in Time Out!
You can put a puppy pee pad in there, too. A lot of dogs don't like the feel of urine running under their feet - hence the attraction of grass and carpet. Once he starts using it consistently, move it outside, He'll figure it out!

Most people who do the whole trail don't do the whole thing at once, Silly! The trick is to get yourself a map and hike a different piece each time you go out. You can even (brace yourself, I know this part is hard) a BOOK that divides the entire trail into smaller, doable portions - day trips. weekend trips, backpacking and canoe trips. It's pretty cool. You can take a lifetime to complete the AT, or just do it until you discover a favorite piece you want to revisit forever. Whatever's your thing. Regardless of how you approach it, it's still an adventure - and an accomplishment!
