Basically, changes were made at the federal level that altered what documentation is required to get a driver’s license. Non-compliant (old) licenses will eventually no longer be usable as proof of identity in some circumstances (like at the airport etc.)

Hana has come a long way from the terrified little girl rescued by the SPCA. Her "brother," a nine month old black LH adopted at the same time, was worse than her, as far as fear went. Poe would let us pick him up, but he went totally flaccid with fear - DS called it his "Just kill me now and get it overwith" reaction. Within a few weeks, Poe realized the error of his ways ... and his misjudgment of humans in general. All you have to do now is look at him and he flops over on your feet for belly rubs. He doesn't even seem to care about the food ... it's just a bonus to the attention. Hana is sweet and will be fine, but Poe is absolutely awesome!

I am going to stay pissed about this until my expensive birth certificate shows up so I can get in line again at 6 am.

We can renew ours online now. Maybe you can too? It's a new thing. We just have to submit photos of qualifying documents.
