Gold comets weren't supposed to be broody. I was definitely not ready for chicks this year. Trying to finish the last 3 in incubator, she left the nest. I guess a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.

The powers that be make too much $$$ for them to not have it I imagine.
Down here the radio station said they were only expecting 1/4 to 1/3 of the attendance though.
Idk. I work around horse showing and the shows theyve had are almost setting record numbers. Seems people are dying to get out and do anything.

They probably said that about the attendance to help them sell it. Sturgis depends heavily on the Rally. It funds the town pretty much for the whole year. I'd have been very surprised if they had decided to cancel. You know, people make choices. If they don't want to go, they won't. If residents don't want to be exposed they can stay home like we do.

If it had been cancelled, taxes would have to go up or services be cut. Many rent out their houses and take a vacation or visit relatives. They often depend on that rent income. 'Course I'm not sure where they'd go this year. They're already at pretty much the only available destination—which is why I think the Rally (which I do not love) will be a bigger deal than it's been for some time. But time will tell.

We just returned from getting our Rally shopping done and won't be going back to town until it's all over. I hope everyone rides safe and enjoys their stay.
