Can someone please tell me what "hump" means in this case? I know that to "hump" something means to pick it up and put it on your back, or something, but is that what she means in this case?
With this bunch, I never quite know....

Technically that is to heft (hefting) not to hump

Probably. I'm not sure how many relatives I have, to be honest. We don't keep much in contact. As it was, I missed half of the conversation in the phone call because my Japanese is only low intermediate level. This is my favourite aunt, though. I remember her spoiling me rotten when I was six and the couple of times that we've met.

No problem. You were just trying to help, and things... didn't exactly turn out the way that you intended. Nothing wrong with that at all. Everyone argues at some point or another, pretty much, and that was kind of a volatile subject, besides.
