I think buns are pretty easy on the hair, really--unless you use a ponytail holder. I just use bobby pins, but I don't usually wear them. They don't work well with a (faker) cowboyish hat.

I can *just* manage it with a hat if I keep the bun very low. I am nothing if not committed!
