Maybe least bloody but most certainly isn't the least painful or most certain of a dead animal.

Depends on how fast you break it's neck I guess. With lab mice, quick and strong is always the best. Same concept. Or you can always over-anesthetize. Many ways to kill something.

I remember watching a farming show on tv (the beekman boys) and they fed their turkey they were going to slaughter some alcohol, siphoned it from the bottle in a tube to drip feed the turkey to relax it before slaughtering with an ax.

Hi! I've read about your "expert poultry judge friend" in your prior posts.
I would take the * finger across the neck gesture * as a sign that the bird shouldn't be in the breeding pen --- and nothing else.
I see no reason to kill anything unless I plan to eat it.
