Killer Rooster-HELP!

We ignored a Brown Leghorn for years because it was our family's "easter chick" when I was growing up. No matter how many times we kicked him across the yard because he came charging at us, he would wait until you turned your back and jump up at your back. We all knew not to turn our back on him, but my little brother (3 at the time) was outside playing with his dump trucks next to the chicken coop. The Roo got out of the coop somehow, and jumped him, spurring him all over his face and stomach, he turned over to protect his face and he kept spurring his back. He looked like he had been lashed with a whip when he was done, and he still has scars on his face 20 years later. Don't underestimate evil chickens, and don't put your animals and family at risk, get rid of them. Breeders are forgetting that temperment can be genetic also.

I have no idea why this bird is still breathing.. Around here he shows one sign of being like that.. hes in the burn barral.

THANKS EVERYONE! That was a lot of fun! I think we'll try dominating him some more and doing some behavior modification and if that doesn't work we'll just bash him over the head with a shovel and have a nice dinner!

the rooster is just doing what he's meant to do, he's just taking it into overdrive.

if he didn't try and protect his hens, what good would he be then,

we've got a ton of roosters(only like 7 we are planning on keeping), there has been no threat to our flock yet, and the only rooster thats every gone after US is our sebright, will we be killing him, no,why? because I believe that if push came to shove if something ever got into the pen, he'd be the one to stare it down.

no meaning to start trouble here,

but really this threads to me anyways get old, i see atleast 2 every week on here, people bring these roosters into their homes, KNOWING what ANY rooster is capable of.

the cat, to a ROOSTER is a threat, the cat WOULD and WILL attack chicks, and small hens, and in the eyes of the rooster, YOU are a threat too.

My flock may not be as protected with my gentle cochin roo, but in the end you have to weigh what is more important.

BTW if you don't like these threads, why do you keep reading them?
