If you only have a few laying hens, I would ONLY sell to those that really , really , really want them.
There is NO use in stressing out trying to keep some idiot happy.
I GIVE my nieghbors a few dozen every so often because they have to put up with the Guinea hens.
Oh, they love for the Guineas running their property because they end the tick problems for them, BUT
the noise is pretty much out of control since I have a BOAT LOAD of Guineas.
I sell my eggs for 1.25 per carton and newbies get a 25 cent surcharge for the cartons until they start
bringing them back for more.
People need to realize the cost, the labor and frankly the pain one goes through to get the eggs to them.
I candle all the eggs that go out. This takes time and effort. Not to mention the refrigeration, the handling,
the pecks you get from a possesive hen and the time you spend taking care of your babies.
