I am a new member (kinda) I joined on the 4th, but then forgot about this. but I ma glad I joined! I have some questions:

1. When did you get chickens?

2. Why did you get chickens?

3. What breeds are they?

thank you in advance if anyone responds!
Hi and welcome to BYC!
Normally the new person is supposed to answer those questions, haha!

I got chickens a year ago. We got them for bug control. I have a silkie mix rooster, Sapphire gems, Easter eggers, I read sex Link, and a couple of other "colored eggers".

:welcome:frow I got my first flock of Leghorns in 1969. I went into the military a few years so I had to give them up. I have had several different breeds over the years except Silkies. The breeds I have now are listed in my signature. Good luck with your birds and have fun...

Welcome to BYC!
I first started raising them five years ago (wow, it's actually been that long!).
I wanted to get eggs, but by now it's more of a hobby/passion than food source(literally, I have so many birds that DON'T lay eggs, you'd think I was just running a chicken vacation home!).
I have BARRED ROCKS and MORE BARRED ROCKS. I also have some RIRs, 1 leghorn, 1 cochin bantam, 1 bantam of an unknown breed(probably mixed), countless others.

Sorry I have been inactive. I live in Nebraska. I have chickens, but not sure what breeds they are. I don't have any pics currently.
