King Coops has BYC member's coops photos posted on their website...

I don't like it when someones takes credit... or does not give credit where credit is due. Many of the coops on BYC are self designed... he should say that they are types of coops used by real backyard chicken owners... not show them as if they are of his design.

Annoys me to no end... when I finally decide on the final design of my new coop... I will be proud to announce whom I "stole" the idea from!

King Coops just put my coop up as "their" "Cluck-a-doodle-doo" coop. While imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, plagiarizing another person's work is not ok. Sadly, if they are trolling the BYC site for cool designs that members put up for the benefit of other BYCers I don't know that there is a lot we can do. I suppose there is an argument to be made about intellectual property but if it's in the public domain i'm not sure if we can stop it.
Sort of sucks.

I am in contact with him now about this. I asked him to remove the picture, and offered to sell him the design and the picture

Like most, a customer sent me that pic to replicate it, but thank you for the negative feedback online I appreciate it.

The coop you have on your home page titled "The Mobile Chicken House"
is not your picture nor design. I know because I built and designed it and that picture you are using is a picture I took of my coop. You do not have the rights to this picture or design. I have all the documentation and proof to show I designed and built this coop and took the pictures. Kindly remove it from your site. If you are interested in purchasing the rights for the design and pictures, please let me know, and perhaps we can work something out.

Thanks

Unbelievable! I would would send a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown notice that persons Internet Service Provider (ISP). Let them deal with them. You can google for ways to get the providers name. Good Luck

I guess if someone is the type of person to steal someone else's picture, lie and pass it off as their own work, breaking the law as well as showing no ethics, you can't expect them to act decently when you contact them about it. One can always hope, but the odds are against it.

If it was me, I would report them. Especially after trying to be nice to them about it and going to them, first.
