Well, I think the 4 I have are trying out their ranks. They are 18 wks.
Running up to one another, stand tall and fluff the neck feathers. Lasts a second then they turn away.
Now they are trying to see WHO can be on the tallest item in the run. The back of my chair I have in there is it. 1st the arms, nope not working. Then the back TAH DAH I win !
Very funny.
But if one goes to eat, they all come running and join in. No one bullied at the feed bowl ;)

Could be figuring out ranks, but that is also cockerel behavior, though I do see my hens do it only once in a while with the pullets. I mostly see my cockerels do it however. Are you sure these are hens? Can you post some pics maybe?

All pullets.
a few weks old pic, but they are pullets for sure. 18 wks old clucking too CAM03373.jpg CAM03373.jpg
