king suro 20 incubator

Dont have one but have heard some good things about them .. Let us know how you like it..

I have one. This is my first hatch so I'm a total newbie! It's hard to put together. The instruction stink! But there's a great link on the web that will help. Just google the name of the incubator. I think it's on their website. Once I got it put together, it's been a breeze. I haven't had to do a thing and it's run perfectly. I'm about to lockdown! Good luck.

I was strongly considering buying one of the King Suro 20 incubators since so many people on this forum have had great experiences with it so far. It appears to work exactly as advertised. However, I decided to go with the more expensive Brinsea Octagon 20 Advance EX model instead. Here were my reasons:

1. The makers of the King Suro 20, Autoelex, offer a 6 month guarantee. Brinsea offers a 2 year guarantee. If I am going to invest such a large amount of money in an incubator, I want the company to stand behind their product for as long as possible.
2. Customer service for Autoelex is in Korea, while Brinsea is a British company and has secondary headquarters in Florida. This will make it much easier for me if I have a problem with the unit.
3. Instructions for the King Suro 20 are said to be poorly written and confusing. Although people are ultimately having great results with the King Suro 20, I have found even the online clarifications to be somewhat confusing. Brinsea's instructions, on the other hand, are clear as a bell (all owner's manuals are available online on their website).
4. Before investing such a huge amount of money, I wanted to to test the customer service of each company. I wrote e-mails to both Autoelex and to Brinsea with a question about their products. Brinsea responded with a thoughtful e-mail within several hours, whereas Autoelex has yet to respond (this was a couple of weeks ago). Maybe this means nothing in the larger scheme of things, but it meant something to me at the time.

Because of the above reasons, I was personally much more comfortable spending about 50% more up front to go with the Brinsea model. Just my 2 cents. I have no affiliation with Brinsea or Autoelex.

I purchased a Suro in Jan.-loved the price and while it kept temps/humidity steady, customer service support leaves alot to be desired. I purchased from Kemps Koops and their customer service # has a recording with options that for Suro's requires you to call another number(another company). When I called the other company they were quite helpful but mentioned that since Kemps bought the Suro's directly from Korea that Kemps is required to provide their own support and was supposed to start handling that on their own. The number on the website as of last week still redirects calls re: Suro.
Pity, since the directions are so poorly written w/ no explanations, etc... As for the eggs, they were shipping casualties (3 broken in transit, only 2 embryos made it to pip and zip and both died. Will try it again soon, though. Don't underestimate customer support, though BYCers more than compensated, in my case. While the price is very attractive look into it more, like Corey did (above).
Best of Luck!
