King Suro 20 Incubator

Exact same thing I am experiencing with my new RCOM. My eggs have been in there since Thursday and it hasn't changed even a half a degree once. I opened up the lid to rearrange the dividers and when I closed the lid, the temp and humidity inside went back to the settings in about 2 minutes.

This one isn't as good a deal as the Suro, the price on the Suro can't be beat, and the Suro does actually hold more eggs.

You know, when I first plugged it in, the fan had a little bit of a buzz to it. I wasn't sure if there was something wrong. But it obviously just needed to run for a while, because now it is quiet. Just has a soft sound of the fan going, similar to a laptop computer. It does play music every time the eggs turn, but I can't hear it because I have it in another room with the door closed.

My Suro has a very low hum, a bit softer than the running of the refrigerator. The humidity pump cycles on and off periodically, which is slightly louder, but not by much, and that's only 5 seconds at a time. It doesn't make any noise when it turns the eggs, though.

I just finished my first hatch with the rcom king suro 20. It came preset to celcius readout, so I switched it over to fahrenheit. It held temp perfectly at 99.5 and humidity at 43% plus or minus 2%. I did not use a back up thermometer because I didnt think it was necessary. My hatch was 2 days late, and I had 2 chicks from 2 different breeders hatch with crippled feet. I suspected my temps were cooler than what the digital read out stated, so after my hatch I checked. I placed 2 mercury thermometer in it, and they both read 97.5-98 degrees, while the digital read out read 99.5.

I am hatching again now with it, and am on day 7. I reset the bator to the manufacturer's presets, and am running on a celsius read out this time. The temps are dead on now against my mercury thermometer. BUT, if I switch it to fahrenheit, it runs 2 degrees cooler. I dont know why it does that, but it just does. It could just be that I am an idiot, or have super bad luck. Or it could just be a fluke with MY incubator. Overall, it is a nice bator, and super easy to clean. I love the humidity pump, and auto egg turning. I am anxious to see how this hatch ends up, and if my results are better. If you buy this bator, you may want to make sure its running at the right temp with a mercury thermometer, and not be an idiot like me and assume the digital read out is correct.

Hmmm, interesting. You know, I didn't calibrate mine either when I first started it up because I assumed the settings in the bator would be more accurate than any thermometer I have. But perhaps I should go get one and test it. I believe that with the RCOMs if you are going to calibrate, you need to do it in celsius and then change it to fahrenheit if you want to use the fahrenheit. But it sounds like maybe you did that and it still runs different. I would call the distributor.

Hi Justuschickens59, and anyone else who is on this thread...

I was wondering if you did indeed buy the Suro20... and if so, how the results have been.

I love my King Suro 20!...I have had very good results with it...I just set mine up again tonight as I am waiting for another batch of eggs to set...I am having fun with it!

I just completed a hatch in mine and couldn't be happier. Absolutely rock solid temps and humidity. I put a spot thermometer in the top vent hole and mine reads exactly true. I do run my bators a bit higher than most folks at 100.3 and my silkies all hatched on day 21-22 this time. My opinion is that silkies are trickier to hatch and I had not had the best luck prior to getting this bator. I love it!!
