Venus slowed when she noticed the guards had stopped chasing her. She needed to get a horse from somewhere. She looked around the area to see if there where any other towns nearby.

After looking furiously around for another civilized area, it seemed this was the only one for miles.

As the two cheered each other happily, outside was a different story. In the middle of the night and in the middle of town, three guards prepared two nooses for when Winter's and Tithae's final hours end at dawn. They tightened the ropes, which were made from fine elven silk making it almost unbreakable.
Tithae continued to be silly, trying to ignore his situation and laughing with Winter.

She kicked the ground angrily and looked back at the town. Maybe if she waited until dark then only the guards would be awake and she would have an advantage. She crouched low and his behind a feebly yellow bush to wait until it got dark

She resurfaced and splashed Sean with water playfully.

Winter laughed joyously knowing nothing of the ongoings outside. She clapped happily as she watched.

Tithae grew tired and then collapsed on his cement bed, breathing heavily. From under his breath he asked, "You like that?"
