We got welsh harlequin ducklings from a very reputable source. they appeared all fine, but about day 4 one of them suddenly had a heavy left hand kink in it's neck. We immediately dosed their water with vitamins and gave them chopped spinach on top of their first rate duckling chow, but it never improved. At this point 3 wks later it is at the exact same amount of kink. The ducklign is lightly smaller than it's sibs, but appears to eat and drink without any problem. It does get knocked down when the duckling mob runs off in panic over anything, but other than the kink has no issues.

I've manipulated her neck several times and you can straighten it without causing any apparent pain. If you move slow and it's not real worried about what you're doing it doesn't tense up at twitch like it hurts to straighten it. As soon as you let go it pops back down to the kink. My husband doubts it'll make it, but since the duckling mob is unsexed and the drakes are goign inot the freezer I'm good with leeting it keep going so long as it's not suffering.

Any one deal with a kinky duck before?

One of our jumbo pekins we got from Metzer had a kink in her neck. Kind of treated it as a Niacin Deficiency so we got a supplement from Tractor Supply and put it in their water....2 weeks later and she's all straightened out {no pun intended lol}

Here is a picture of when we first got her

About a week ago

This is her today....about 2 weeks later all straighened out
