Kirby Thread *NEW PICTURE 7/11

Well, the OP and others seem to agree that a majority of owners who purchase dyed chicks than abandon or rehome them, correct?

So wouldn't purchasing an item from an industry that you think is so clearly flawed, is still supporting the industry?

Bingo.

Personally, I'm happy that this little guy found a good home.

The dye does not hurt them and please people don't blame people who are responsible pet owners vs those who buy a cute little colored chick and not have a clue how to take care of it...
We are a throw away over consuming society, first change peoples way of thinking then these cute dyes chicks will be ok as people will do the right thing by them.....

I had a solo chick growing up and she did fine. And if the OP hadn't bought this chick someone else would have and it probably wouldn't have as great of a home! I love Kirby! Keep up the pics and enjoy your baby

I used to think I could save the world. Now, I realize I can do my very best to save what I can and teach my kids to do the same. Dyeing chicks cute colors is very low on the scale of what needs saving! Give this girl a break, people!

Btw, dogs are pack animals and, when kept with people, you know what they do.. they bond to people. If she would like to make a pet out of this rooster, than I don't see any harm. My very best friend growing up was a little roo I raised up. We had many wonderful years together. All summer we would wander around the farm.. Baby (the roo) would be close by. He came inside and hung out with me there. I just had to clean up after him.. per moms orders. He would even wait for me at the end of my farm lane for the school bus to drop me off. He would crow when he saw the bus top the hill and race down to crowd me and pick gravel for me.. like "where have you been, young lady!!" hahahahahah He is what started my love for poultry. Baby never really was accepted by the rest of the flock. There was this old, nasty barred rock hen that tolerated him but, he I was definitely his main squeeze. I think these little roos could face worse scenarios than being coddled.

Here's me af about 14 just a couple years before Baby passed. We were still best of friends. I never really "held" him... He would just walk all over me

Here's me last year with, yet, another sweet roo.

Roos seem to make the best pets. They need a flock to cling to. Sometimes we are their flock. There is nothing wrong with that.

LOL I have to admit I got a good giggle out of the big ol' phone .... we were so high tech we couldn't stand ourselves back then! lol

We actually had insurance from the phone co. on that particular gem. It was $14 per month

and, IF it broke, it was covered to be fixed. The really funny thing is my dad never took the insurance off and that phone had been replaced years and years ago... He just caught the recurring charge on his bill like two years ago. He said he forgot what it was for and just kept paying it... for like 10 YEARS!!!!! AF (after phone)
