This
is the kirby web site with phone numbers. Call and ask for the highest person on the totem pole and throw a fit! Tell them you are being ripped off and that you are going to call the Attorney general, the better business bureau,Twitter, Facebook, the local TV station and tell everyone that will listen if they don't make this right. Dont deal with the goofy salesmen. Go to the top!

My Kitchen Aid is 20 years old and still the love of my (kitchen) life.

I have a 30 year old kitchen aid and it ROCKS! I need to get a new meat grinder for it though cause mine is cracked. Well worth the money if you buy one new - or worth it's weight in gold if you get a hand-me-down like I did!!

The notice of cansellation says:
You may CANCEL this transaction, without any Penalty or Obligation, within THREE BUSINESS DAYS from the above date.

Am I not being Penalized?

Call corporate. Then call the AG as suggested, then call the salesman back and pitch the biggest fit you can manage. They are scamming you. They have probably re-sold that same vacuum a dozen times already

I called my dad and bawled. He was understanding but still yelled at me for my foolishness.
Hes going to call the guy and have a few words with him and is having me draft a letter of cancellation.

He pretty much thinks Im screwed because the man didnt give me ANY paper work and tore off the bottom of the Notice of Cancellation.

Tearing the paper does not change the law, IN FACT it is called obstructing justice to remove elements of a crime, and their refusal to accept your return is a violation of law. It is a stretch and local law enforcement will not touch it but the consumer fraud division of the AG office just may.

It is a shame that you did not hang onto the cleaner until you had all your money back. If you still had the cleaner I would not have paid them a dime after the stunt they pulled. They would have been in the same boat as you are now trying to collect.

Ugh I wish you would have waited and asked around first. Kerby is a scam, they scam the people they have working for them and the customers. I worked for the Bakersfield Ca. chapter for a VERY short time. They "hired" me on as a door knocker and they actually trained us how to trick customers.... And if haggled properly they will wiggle down the price to under a grand.... that right there tells me they are scamming ppl. On the positive side the machine is very cool and lasts a long long long time... BUT who in this economy want's to spend so much on a freaking vaccume? I'm going back to read the rest of the thread now but yah, do whatever you can to return that (you may need to threaten them with a law suit)

This is why most cities have laws against it. In this day and age of computers and UPS there is no need for door to door sales, especially considering the chance of being the victim of a crime. There really should be state laws against it also.
