Haven't done it that bad but have had my share of flour on me and the counter. I just made Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Buns dough and can't wait to try them.

We also have the ice cream attachment and it so good in the summer even though we are not big ice cream eaters.

Sorry this is a double post of the picture - but wanted you all to see my Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Buns - my husband eat 2 for dessert last night and they are divine. I read in one of the reviews that someone added orange zest so I did too and it is a definite - added about 1/2 Tsp and it was a great hint of orange now and again. We have a baking thread going too in case any of you are interested. "What are you baking now"

I love my mixer made this dough and did all the work for me.

This is timely! I told DH last week I want the meat grinder attachment. When I can buy fresh pork roast for 99 cents a pound, it just kills me to pay $4+ for decent sausage...and the cheap sausage is just nasty...what do they put in that stuff???

My kitchen aid gets allot of use and I love it, I have a few attachments but like to buy stand alone machines for specific use cause I worry about power and don't want to burn it up, I run allot of heavy duty food in my kitchen for freezing and processing so stand alone meat grinders and such make more sense. Kitchen aid is a great product.

I use the meat grinder most of all the attachments I have. Like others have said, it's great for better quality ground meat. I also make bread once or twice a week and can't live with out the dough hook! It's well worth the investment. My husband said when he bought it that he thought it would collect dust, but he is very glad we got it and I use it so much.

I love my Kitchen Aide. I got a refurbished lift head mixer for christmas in 2008. I havent got any attachements just because of the rediculous price, but I do have the dough hook and love working with it. My culinary arts class uses the mixers to make just about anything but we dont have any attachments for them either.

Hi,

In my previous reply, I forgot to mention that I bought the BeaterBlade for my mixer. It is not made by KitchenAid, but is made for their mixers. It can be used to replace the regular paddle blade that comes with the mixer.

The advantage to this one is that it constantly scrapes the bowl, so you never have to stop and scrape it yourself. It kind of reminds me of a blade with windshield wipers attached. I also feel that my batters come out fluffier and it reduces the mixing time.

One thing you have to watch out for is when you add dry ingredients, such as flour, make sure you keep the speed as low as possible. Otherwise, you can have flour all over the place!

I thought I would mention this in case anyone doesn't know about it. I stumbled over it by accident I got it in a kitchen specialty store but it can also be purchased on amazon.com. If you are interested in this item, just be sure you get the correct one for your mixer model.

Hope you find this helpful!

yep! The Kitchenaid mixer was one of our first kitchen purchases along with a decent food processor, that we ever made. I actually wore a set of gears out on my kitchenaid from kneading so much bread dough with it.

I use the meat grinder attachment a lot making jerky. I chop the meat through once, season it, then run it through again with the small screen attached. Perfect jerky every time, and ready for the dehydrator with only two passes through the grinder...

Thanks for the opinion on the Beater Blade I have been wanting one but not sure if they worked well. I have 6 quart mixer and my speciality kitchen store only has 5 quart. I'll check out Amazon.com.

Also, Amazon has the best price on the three pack of attachments that includes the shredder, juicer and meat grinder - only $99.00 and no shipping. The three are a lot more if you buy them separately.

Hi again,

Another thing I forgot to mention that it is helpful to add the dry ingredients toward the center of the bowl. This also reduces the tendency for the flour, etc. to fly around. Thanks about the tip on the attachment pack, but I already have those. Got them in Costco (was called Price Club at that time) about 20+ years ago at about the same price, when I originally bought my ancient mixer!

I have the old lift bowl 5 quart mixer, so there was no problem in getting the BeaterBlade, but do check Amazon because they have quite a few different models. Good luck!
