I have a 4 and a half weeks. We are doing what you are supposed to, like giving her KMR (kitten milk replacer) and wiping her butt with a wet cloth, but she wont poop we've had her for almost 2 days. If you have any advice it would be GREATLY appriticated. She seems healthy and runs and plays and pees and eats normaly but wont poop please answer soon thanks :)

Try putting a little karo syrup in her formula. Also, you can get some infant glycerine suppositories at the drug or grocery store. You can also give her an enemy with a SMALL amount of warm soapy water injected up the anus with a syringe minus the needle.

Make sure the wash cloth is warm when stimulating her. Sometimes it takes a bit of light rubbing (think how a mama cat would lick their butts) We raised a litter of 5. We found them when they were 2 1/2 weeks old, and it took them 3 days before they went. Our vet was not overly concerned about it taking so long.

By the time kittens are 3 weeks old they are usually able to control illumination on their own, so she should be just fine.

She just sounds a wee bit constipated. I would be more worried if she had really bad diarrhea. We had a wee kitten once that simply couldn't hold anything in. She really smelled something awful. My mum and Dad loved her sooo much they didn't know what to do and ended up taking her to the Vet. After a deal of tests it turned out she had not developed a lower gut. This meant that she would be unviable and she sadly had to be put to sleep at only 6 weeks of age. In the end they got her sister from the same litter and Kelly No 2 lived a very long healthy and happy life until she was 15 yrs old. - So I wouldn't be worried too much about your wee one right now. She will poo eventually. As I said I would be more worried if it was the other way round. She should be able to evacuate herself by now without intervention. If you still have issues in say 48 hrs I would think on a Vet check. But really she should be ok.

Good luck with her
