The other night Klaus, our German Shepherd saved the day by chasing off something large from our coop area. Since then, he bugs us and wakes us up to go out back at all hours of the night. We let him out, and he quickly runs back to that area! Do you think whatever that was is coming back, or do you think Klaus is still looking for it from the other night? If it doesn't storm tonight, I'm thinking about leaving him out all night.. IDK....

I would leave him out the thing about Sheppards are that they Guard so for him he is doing his job with you keeping him in the house he can't do his job. I would go on a little hunt though myself I would take him to the area and let him sniff and run and show him that it is gone plus I would take him to the other side of the fence and allow him to smell and follow what ever it was till the scent is gone he will get board and turn back around after a point or he will take you to whatever it was at least this way you will have some idea rather it be 2 legged or 4 legged.

Good luck and happy hunting.

I'd seriously trust the nose of a German Shepherd over what I could see in the dark. If he's only doing it at night then you have a nocturnal preditor. Good luck.

I'm thinking a raccon or coyote... I'm gonna try to get one of those motion sensor cameras, and set some traps... Then I'll leave Klaus out.. In no certain order... just not together, I'd end up with alot of Klaus pics!
