Knats in Duck area

We have 4 ducks and have noticed a lot of knats in their cage. Does anyone have any idea how to get rid of them?

I would consider screening around their cage.

Also, some of us hang Vanillaroma Little Tree car deodorizers in duck areas and they seem to discourage flying insects. Worth a try.

Are the gnats being drawn to something like spilled feed? I know it's impossible to pick up every scrap, but during gnat season you might want to make an extra effort, if that's the case.
