I live on 10 acres, with not much behind me.

I've seen plenty of foxes, a coyote, deer galore, quail galore, wild turkeys, and hear Lot's of owls.

I placed my chicken pen close to the goat pasture, put deer netting on top to keep anything from flying in. Have a built up off the ground coop with predator proof doors. I have lots of rocks buried outside the perimeter to discourage digging under.

I thought for sure those foxes would try to get the chickens though. And wondering why I've never seen any evidence of them trying.

Then I noticed the foxes take a big huge detour onto the neighbor's property to stay away from my goats. Couldn't figure out why.

Then one day I noticed the neighbor's cat in my pasture, and suddenly 12 angry Nigerian goats all at once went on attack mode and chased that cat right out of the pen! Even the at the time 5 week old kid was leading the way to try and kill this cat! The only thing that saved that poor kitty was getting over the fence before they reached her! And they all piled into the fencing in the determination to get that cat!

I never thought goats would be good for poultry protection but apparently I have strange goats who hate furry little creatures!
