Knot on left breast on my 4 to 6 week chicks

Hello,
I was putting mulch in my coop for my chicks and built them a roost and a 2x4 box covered with weldwire so they won't get mulch in there food and water, I was sitting there watching them and one jumped on my arm and I noticed that she had something like a knot on her left breats and the other girls have them but not as big, Is this usual or what? Please help. Thanks

It's probably their crop. It's usually a round lump just to one side of the neck. It's the chicken's pre-stomach where food is stored and ground up to aid digestion. By the end of the day it's more full of food, and in the morning you will notice it's flatter as the chick has digested the contents of the crop during the night.

Perfectly normal...while crop problem can ahem....'crop'... up, what you are describing sounds just fine.
