Hi,
I've recently read about poultry feed buying co-ops where people can sometimes get better prices and have access to higher-quality feeds (maybe even supplements, too)
I know this is a shot in the dark, but has anyone heard of such a co-op (and dream of dreams...let them be waterfowl lovers, too!)?
So many of the feed and tack shops in my area seem to be more interested in selling cheaply-made foods at discounts(?), with the most specializing of the lot carrying at least one brand with either pro-biotics or antibiotics and poultry vitamins not mixed into the water are harder to find (pardon the expression) than hen's teeth. I'd love to think there are people out there who care so much about their birds that they'd band together to get them the best feed...and...at affordable prices!
Thanks so much! The birds really need it---their feathers are just shredded, beaks are peeling, their anxiety's high, hormones are rampant...the list goes on from there (incl. one Canada lady--she came back w/ her daughter--only to find her husband nearly 6 months after being eaten by a coyote--things had been o.k., he was treating his sister as a bride, tuntill over the weekend when this big boss man of a bird decides to make her his. I wasn't there to see it, but my bug boy took a beak-full of feathers out of 1/4 of our Canada girl's neck---now she won't let him or anyone in his family *near* her and her daughter...)
At this point, I'm thinking better nutrition will make them feel tremendously better : )
Thanks again!
