Lunchlady we should compare notes on the lavender silkies.
I ordered:
-4 self-blue
-3 buff
-3 red
-4 buff orps (pullets)
-2 buff orps (male)
-4 white jersey giants
I cant wait till april 16!!!

I'd love to compare notes! In fact, if I can get my act together & actually figure out how to post, I'll try to post some pics of the lavenders. Probably not tomorrow, because even if they arrive tomorrow I'll be running the kids around most of the day & trying to get work done when they're in school.

In addition to my lavenders, I ordered the following with insurance for no extra males:

1 blue bantam Cochin - st run

1 Welsummer pullet

1 blue Mille Fleur - st run(these have a different name, but they're basically milles but blue)

1 straight run buffed laced polish (not bantam)

There may be something else that I'm forgetting...Just remembered that I think I also ordered 2 blue laced red Wyn bantams....

Anyway, let's stay in touch! I'm subscribed to this post, so I'll stay on top of it.

What an awesome collection, Critter Crazy!! I have to tell you that my Golden Campine, one of the original 4 I purchased through My Pet Chicken, is one of my all-time favorite chickens. We named her "Sally," - well, my 8 yo son did - and she is stunning. I always look at her and think, "Now, if she IS "pet" quality, then she is one of the most beautiful pets I've ever owned." She also has a great temperment & is easy to catch, even when free ranging.

I'd like to hear what you think of your BLPs too. I have one nice pullet from someone who raised her as a Sandhill Preservation chick. She's far from show quality, but she's a cutie & quite the character.

Ohhh definately post pix when you get the self blue silkies as I have been wanting them BADLY. If someone in Tx orders them I want to share an order!!!
You mentioned crosssing them w/your better silkies.,..what color would you cross w? White or black?
