Just wanted to give a shout out to Meyer hatchery for cancelling my order that was scheduled to go out tomorrow. I just spoke with them.
Because of the ice and snow storms hitting much of the country, they made the hard decision to not ship out any chicks this week. While I am disappointed that I will not be getting the English Jubilee Orpingtons I ordered some time ago, I am happy that they are taking the welfare of the birds into consideration. 🥰
Unfortunately they do not have any more of this breed until October, so they are also contributing to chicken math (subtraction in this case) and also making me realize I did not really need more birds anyway! 🤣

so true..sometimes we need a check on this math thing! and good on them!!!

Aww. I hate this for them. I've always had great success with Meyer. I drove by their hatchery once but it was a weekend and they were closed. They are right in the middle of Amish country and they also sell shipped pullets, so I'm sure they will find ways to sell all of the chicks. I'm happy to hear they made the safe decision!

I know this thread is a little old, but were you able to get any of your jubilee orps? If you wait until their Mondays when they fill chick orders, you can look at what breeds they have left over after they fill them. Filtering by availability date makes it easier to see what's left. That's how I was able to get my jubilee orpington female yesterday. They usually don't have a lot left ( iirc, there were only 10 left when i ordered ) and they'll take the breed availability for that day down after a certain time, so you have to be a little quick with it. Around 9am is when they had my orders filled Monday.
