LA Chickenstock (MS & TX too) - TRY AGAIN!!! (pg. 5)

wendy - nothing is set up at this time. This is my first chickenstock and I am trying to figure out if people would be interested in attending.

I know that it is like a lunch to meet and some people may bring chickens to sell, swap, etc.

Any suggestions from all of you are welcome.

Thanks,
Dorothy

Hey yall, sorry it's way too far away for me.

I'm the only one who tends to the animals around here & I can't stray too far from the coop. My MIL is elderly & my hubby works all the time.
Bummer....

Finally I made it back online!! have had multiple computer woes plus got logged out & then my password wouldn't work.

I don't have a problem w/the drive, just depends on what's going on those weekends. My husband works out of town during the week so we're pretty much homebodies on weekends.

Since I live in Alexandria, I do know my way around & if you all would like I can check into a place to meet up. I know the lakes all have gazebos & barbecue pits & are nice places to have family reunions & I can check into the cost of admission & rental, etc. for this fall.

Definitely would have to be this fall as it is WAY too hot & humid right now!

There is also a Farmer's Market building downtown which has a commercial kitchen & covered patios outside--we used it to house people & their pets during the hurricane evacuations -- it would be a good site. Again, I don't know if the city charges & how much but I can look into it.

Glad to be back online & able to "talk" again! it like to have killed me to just read!

Why would you go to Lafayette first? Take Hwy 1 to New Roads then Hwy 10 to Interstate
55 north to Kentwood. Shorter route should be 3 or 4 hours tops. Just a thought.

Hwy 1 is not near me to go to New Roads. I live off of hwy 167, i am 17 miles north of alex. i have not looked at the best route, i am saying that Lafayette is about 2 hours south of me to give a idea of where I am in La.

I am in Northwest Louisiana - it would be a drive but I might be able to be there depending on the date. I will have to see if I have a ballgame and let you know.

We use to go through that area at least twice a year to El Dorado Ark. and Haynesville La. for chicken shows. They where long drives but lots of fun. Some of my husbands family live in west monroe. We went for family reunion after Thanksgiving at some park in West Monore. I am hoping that I will be off.
