La Fleche Thread ~ PIC of my Black La Fleche

I recently acquired 13(about a week ago). Posted many pictures in previous posts, you should check them out! I also posted a couple of videos as well.

They are definitely a work in progress which, knock on wood, will prove to be quite fruitful in the future.

Took pictures of one trio. Not the greatest, but with the flightiness I think these are the best I'm getting.

The male is much better with space, he wasn't standing quite right in a small cage. But he still looks good.

The first pullet, in my opinion, is the best of all the birds I got.

The second pullet I really wanted to cull out due to body. But I face the reality that I really will be much happier with more to select from. And for all I know she might end up spitting out of the best birds this year.

They are difficult to photo aren't they? Mine move around and I mostly get blurred but here and there I get a picture. Are these the ones you got from Bill?

I think you ought to use all of the pullets in breeding the first season and see what you get.

Yes, this trio and the other trio are Bill's. I have a younger pair, waiting to see how they do, also from Bill.

I'll probably get pictures of the other trio tomorrow. Then the Urch pair another day.

Yes, keep her in there. Breed a bunch this year and cull harder the year after..

I invested in a camera that can take faster pictures last year. It is a Canon Elph 1000. I still get some Blurry ones, but not that much any more. I have Penedesencas....They are flighty and sometimes have shaky legs. They never attack me thought---not even a nip.

A young man in the Boston area. He only kept enough birds to breed with after I bought these from him. He's had them about 6 years and purchased them from a couple of older guys in NY(If I remember correctly).

If you are in Colorado you may find some closer. I am unaware of anyone further west than Arkansas.

Oh boy, 2 new La Flèche eggs today. There is a hatch-a-long, nonsensical, hoobly ha, thing going on for New Years. I think I'll set my first eggs to participate. Break in a new incubator with a new breed. And participate in a group hatching. Should be interesting.

Going to need to get some 2014 ABA bands as soon as they are available too. Thinking 22 for the males and 20 for the females. Going to need to size them in the next couple of weeks.
