Cockerel and 2 pullets. Sun is bright right now, and they were pacing heavily. Hard to get good pictures. And I'm enjoying some Stiegl at the moment so more will have to wait.

Last, but not least. The culls. They won't have much meat on their bones. But I will enjoy eating them anyway.







Thankfully the combs on these were bad. Because they have the worse body type too(in my opinion).

I like the looks of your Cull #1. I know his comb has those spikes BUT,

First, I like long wattles and his seem the longest of all yours. The SOP calls for wattles on the male as "uniform, long, well rounded, pendulous. I have noticed in mine some variation in length.

Second, his earlobes look large which is what the SOP calls for. I am looking at earlobe looking like it meets under their neck.

He is from Bill, correct? If he is, I would not mind having him, if you are up for a trade?

Also been doing some thinking on how I want to set up my breeder pens, logistically speaking. I ended up with more quality females than males. So I'm going to breed as trios and pairs both. Going to set up 4 different 48x36x30 Turkey coops, housing males. Each with a double bantam coop on top. Females in on Sunday/Monday, out for Tuesday-Saturday(as that is my work schedule and would allow a smooth operation for me and the birds). Each female separated from the others to allow determination of egg origin. Eggs laid during Sunday/Monday, for trios, will simply not get a toe punch and will end up as birds I unload(even if they look nice). Going to use the old 8x8 breeder pen for setting hens and young chicks, as it will have very little draft issues. 20x10 building will be used to grow young pullets. Going to need those "tractor" things or something to grow out Cockerels(which I will probably cull with much brutality).

And a friend just offered me a hatcher and incubator at prices I could not turn down... things are falling into place just as I had wished. Have birds, have space, and have a solid hatching set up.

I'd like to say that today is the day I begin setting my La Flèche eggs. I got my first egg out of Bill's birds. Of course, it came from the hen that I culled when I brought them home(I wasted no time in my selections). She has been running around with my Buckeyes, so when it does hatch it will likely go to a friend or a relative. But at least I'm getting eggs out of them!
