I am looking to see what the withdrawl period is when using LA200 in chickens and turkeys. I do not have an emergency right now I just simply cannot find this info anywhere. Any help would be appreciated.
Fourteen days is the usual egg withdrawal time most use, but it is not approved for poultry a this time, only used off-label. Here is one study that was published that says that it is in the yolk for 9 days. https://jfoodprotection.org/doi/pdf/10.4315/0362-028X.JFP-13-440
It says to not butcher turkeys within 5 days of using it, and it says not to use at all in chickens, but I do know that plenty of people have used oxytetracycline in the past.
Hola Habanero! This is not about withdrawal time, but a general FYI for all that as a long time alpaca owner I have learned from excellent veterinary sources:
LA-200 hurts like hell! Try using BioMycin-200 instead which utilizes a different carrier for the oxytetracycline and hurts a LOT less. Just ask any of my alpacas
