My silkie roo has labored breathing/fell out in my arms thought he was dead. Came back from it he's got tiny reddish bugs, shaking his head ..mites ?? Needs worming ??? Husband left us 2 months ago money Tite. Have ivermax ivermectin 1% sterile solution injectable for cattle/swine on hand and Safeguard 0.5% dewormer type b medicated feed for swine/growing turkeys. Never gave injection b4. Need HELP PLEASE. He's my first chicken on my lil goat farm. Don't want to lose him. He's got a strong will to survive. Feel TERRIBLE. ....
SINCERELY...THERESA

Is this sudden onset or has he been having labored breathing. If sudden onset, I would guess that it is a heart condition, and little can be done except to keep him calm and hope for the best. If long term, perhaps the mites have debilitated him if they are excessive, and he needs to be treated. Do an on site search for topical ivermectin treatment for mites. Good luck.
