Labored breathing issue

Hey sorry it doesn’t look like anyone got back to you. How is she doing now?

I came across your post as I have a chick who I think has a slight rasp sound when she breathes sometimes. She seemed poorly this afternoon but has perked up a bit - but still opens her beak sometimes - usually after eating or drinking. We wondered if she had something stuck or an infection maybe.

Do you think your hen’s trouble could be related to the peepers? I think you’ve done the right think to try and treat potential infection. I would do the same thing, but not sure what to use, or what dose, especially for a 2.5 week old chick.

Actually, her breathing is better tonight. Still it sure if it was related to the blood from the peepers.

I guess you could try the peepers again and keep a close eye on her. I wouldn’t really know what to suggest, but if she’s interrupting the peace of the flock without them, it’s worth a try.
