One of my rescue hens has quite noisy breathing the nostril looks narrow and she has a lump above her nostrils.
She is eating and happy in herself, isn't laying anymore.
This might not be relevant to the problem but her background is she had very few feathers when she arrived and all her other rescue pals grew them she never did, but now 2 years on the feathers are just coming through.
We have had red mite recently so I was worried the DE was affecting her breathing but all the others are OK.
That lump is not there in the other rescue hens.

How is she doing?
Hi StaceyH thanks so much for enquiring after my hen. She is doing OK when she is out and about in the day you can hardly notice it, she is still eating well and a good weight. But when you see her on the perch at night she has noticeably more laboured breathing than the rest. I am beginning to think it is something she was born with. Our vet lovely as he is not great with hens.
