Hello all :)
A neighbor gave me a batch of jersey giant hatching eggs, and I ended up with one pullet (predators took the rest, long story short), and she has very interesting coloring. My neighbor told me that laced or splash was possible, but lace is super rare. I've tried googling 'laced jersey giant' but the pics don't look much like her, and I also can't tell if she's black or brown ? Or is this a variant of blue? She's also 5 months old, will her colors change as she gets older?
Does anyone else have a pic of their laced jersey giant? She's so pretty, but I can't tell if she's actually purebred or if I'm being duped lol.
Thanks ahead :)

Pretty bird, but she isn't laced. JG don't come in laced, I think they only come in black, blue, splash and white. I'm sure someone that knows a lot more than I do will come along and have a better answer for you. But she is very pretty.

I have a Blue Jersey Giant. she is mostly blue with a bit of color on her neck feathers- she is nothing in the way of yours with all the speckles your has. I think it is too early to tell. I do believe she will change a lot in a few months. Mine has changed each month and she is 7 months old. Good luck,, I do not think I would rule out anything at this point. Jersey Giants seem to develop sorta later ( in my opinion) than my other birds. I would love to see how she turns out so please do post more photos in a month or so. I am going to try to follow you so I can get a notification. BUT try to tag me if you post again. - Hope you are safe in CA with all the fires and "stuff" going on!

Hm, thank you! I'll definitely keep updating. She's so sweet, I'm thinking of getting more jerseys, but its a little late in the year... I'm addicted to hatching eggs, is it ever too late to have chicks? :p I also can't decide if I want eggs from my neighbor again, kind of depends on how she turns out. And yes, we are safe in our neck of the woods, still praying for all those affected in CA and OR, thank you :hugs

Actually, after doing some research, I'm wondering if she might be a Barnevelder mix? She's always been bigger than my other chicks/pullets, and she came out of a large dark brown egg. Her feet are sort of a grayish color, which makes me think she's a mix. Single red comb, still small, and her wings are short, but she's great at hopping (not so good with flying).
Does anyone have a pic of their barnevelder pullet they could share? :) Haven't ruled out Jersey Giant, but the plot thickens lol...
